Yogurt doesn’t only provide health benefits. Surprisingly, it’s versatility runs beyond your bowl. Check the many uses of yogurt aside from making you healthy:

It whitens your teeth.

Teeth whiteners are costly and often have side effects when used over a long period of time. It depletes the enamel, making them susceptible to decay and damage. Whiteners can also lead to sensitivity of your teeth and gums. Why risk your oral health with these products? Yogurts are natural teeth whiteners as they contain calcium and phosphorus. Make it a habit to rub yogurt into your teeth daily for several weeks and see the result.

It relieves stomach problem, such as diarrhea.

Yogurts have live cultures of Streptococcus thermophilus and Lactobacillus bulgaricus that restores the gastrointestinal flora. It helps with many stomach issues, such as aphthous ulcers, anal pruritus, and canker sores.  Yogurts have intrinsic antibacterial properties, primarily because of its lactic acid content. This is why it is often recommended after taking antibiotics. It is also best for adults and children with diarrhea.

It heals blemishes and brightens the skin.

Yogurt is one of the kitchen staples that can be used for facial purposes. It has a natural moisturising ability that can brighten the skin. Yogurt can relieve the dark circles around the eyes and makes the skin younger looking.  For people with pimple and acne problems, yogurt can also heal and prevent these bacterial problems. To use as facial mark, yogurt should be mixed with oats and honey and apply on the face. Rinse after 10 minutes.

Do you want to make your skin clean and smooth? Yogurt can be used as a natural scrub for your hands, feet and body. Simply mixed yogurt with dried citrus peel or oats and massage it on the skin in a circular motion. Rinse it with cold water. It naturally hydrates the skin, so it relieves dryness.

It can be a natural hair highlight.

Do you want to reapply highlights on your hair? You don’t have to go to the salon and spend a couple of bucks for your tresses. Just mix 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and 1 cup yogurt. Apply it on your hair and let it sit for 30 minutes. Wash it, and observe how it can enhance the highlights in your hair.
