What To Do When Your Kids Take Up All Your Space

When you first hear the news that you are going to have a baby, the elation takes over your entire life. You can’t possibly know how the baby will take over your life though. Pregnancy is full of twists and turns, worries and forward thinking. You may start to buy things for the baby as your due date approaches. Decorating and furnishing baby’s room is one of the most important things for a pregnant woman during the nesting phase of the pregnancy.

This important phase means everything has to be perfect and in its place. Somehow, despite carrying all that extra weight, a pregnant woman will achieve it too! The trouble is, once the baby arrives, there is no way you can keep anything perfect and in its place ever again! The reality of the baby becomes an exhausted rush around doing what little can be done on next to no sleep for the next few months and beyond.

Once toddlerhood rolls around, our children are the ones making more and more mess. Of course, by this point, there are far more things in your home to make a mess with. In fact, right through to preschool, you will find you are buying more and more things for your child. Clothing, developmental toys, and toilet training will bring so many new items into your home, you won’t know what to do with them all.

Then, of course, the brilliant news about baby number two. And no, it is not possible to reuse or recycle everything that baby number one had. You will be buying more and more. It maybe at this point that you are finding yourselves buried under kiddie things in your own home. You have literally run out of space, and you need to find more. Your house has probably become quite impractical, and you are looking to move.

Moving isn’t always essential if your home has the potential to be remodelled or extended. If you have space on the site for it, search online for skip bins Perth and get the builders going with your project. With small children, you may have to move into a hotel for a week or so but this will be worth it in the long term to be able to come back to a more practical home. Extending your home may not always be possible, so see if it can be remodelled to include much more storage for you.

Having children is wonderful, and fills your house with love and delight. Unfortunately, they do often fill your house with junk! All the things they need as a newborn quickly becomes useless to you as they start crawling and toddling. But you wouldn’t have it any other way. We all want our kids to have everything they could possibly need to develop and grow and be happy. We don’t mind relinquishing our homes really. Afterall, we wouldn’t be who we are without the kids in our lives. Through sleepless nights and stinky nappies, there is definitely no going back now!
